Can you tell a story? How about a story about your personal experiences that others might relate to?
The best blog posts out there are written by people who tell their stories.
With a twist!
Their stories are not just about themselves, but they engage their reader, who begins to feel like they are actually in the story. Make sense?
For example. . . . .
I can talk all day long about how my book Be Social Be Rich became a best seller and I might even bore a few folks, but if you are currently trying to write a book and I tell you the way I got it done was write a little bit every day, you might start to believe you can do it to. Especially when I tell you my own writing experience is right here on this blog!
Or what if I told you my story about how I achieved best-seller status because of my incredible network and their marketing of my book with me? All of a sudden, you’re starting to think about your own network in a totally new light!
See the difference?
Instead of just preaching at people or talking at people, you are drawing them into your story. Because ultimately, the readers that keep coming back are the ones that resonate with your story.
Believe me, there are elements of your story that others are sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear. A story that sounds a little like them. For instance, much of my own story is about how I went from being a stay-at-home Mom to having a work-at-home thriving business on the internet in my (yes!) 50’s and lived to tell about it! Throw in a little southern way of life, a lot of tech-challenges, a talk-a-holic, a desire to help others, and you’ve pretty much defined my story.
Sit down and write out experiences you’ve had that have helped advance your biz. Or changed your life. Or that you think are downright funny. Chances are, others will enjoy your commentary and return over and over.
Try it and let me know where to find your blog! Most likely, I’ll be an avid reader!
