bigstock Gratitude 37954498 300x200 How Simple Gratitude Can Increase Your Online BusinessDid you know that a simple attitude of gratitude can be a powerful force?  Forget the fact that it’s just plain good for you, genuine thankfulness creates huge ripples for success.  In your online business or anywhere else!

The month of November is thankfulness month and there’s plenty of ways you can share your gratitude!

  • Social Media – An obvious choice.  Read a super duper blog post?  See an incredible idea?  Share it with others.  Not once, not twice, but how about all across the boards?  Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Stumbleupon, etc.  You get the picture.  What better and easier way to say thank you?
  • Has your latest book find helped you?  Why not write a review on your blog?  Or maybe an Amazon review?  At the very least, click the Amazon “like” button next to the title.
  • Get personal.  Remember the old-fashioned thank you note?  Well, it’s still around and not at all dated.  Want to show gratitude with an all-out personal touch?  Hand write that note and stick it in the mail.  I promise.  It’s meaningful message will be cherished.
  • Sold on a service or product?  How about submitting  a written recommendation they can use in their marketing?  Always include your name, website, and contact info.
  • Referrals. Did someone do a stand up job for you?  Maybe a web designer, graphics expert, or social media trainer?  The best way to show appreciation is to  refer others their way.  Being in a network of people who willingly help others increase their business will multiply yours!

You see, being grateful has so many benefits.  Besides lifting your own spirits, when you acknowledge someone else, the ripple effect is far reaching!

After all, we’re all in this together!

Peace,

-Martha

Hi Martha

Nice post. I like your third tips about “Get Personal”. Sometimes I forget to use traditional method to give our readers or customers some little gifts like postcard, or greeting card.

I will try it. Thanks

Michael

Interesting how many people turn that around backwards. Doesn’t work that way, does it?

Martha, I loved the message of this post. Receiving a handwritten thank you note is so rare these days; I think that’s what make them so special. Your post was just wonderful.

Great suggestions, Martha. Our basic interactions with people shouldn’t change, just because we are online. A thank you and sharing someone’s work is so important. Thanks for the reminder.

I agree. I read a quote awhile ago that silent gratitude doesn’t do anyone any good!

Those are great ideas! Especially the Amazon.com one. I lean on those reviews, but I never give one. I should start doing that… thanks! :)

This is such a great post and a wonderful reminder with so many possible applications. Thanking people for what they do, rather than ignoring their good actions as being “just part of them doing their job”, can really create so many positive ripple effects in life. :) Thank you for the post!

Great thoughts Martha, especially the one about referrals. I also do the Three Blessings exercise at the end of my day. Martin Seligman discovered the benefits of recording our gratitudes in his positive psychology research. People can find it by searching on Youtube.com. I also wrote an article about this exercise that people can find here: http://www.habitsintohealth.com/?s=three+blessings
