It always shows up at the most inopportune moments.
Mine in particular.
When you are working diligently on a business project, it’s easy to get caught up in what you’re doing and before you know it, you seem to think what you are doing is the most important thing in the world. Not just to you. But to everyone else.
This week, I have had to step back and take a deep breath.
For those of you who haven’t heard, I have my first solo book coming out. On Amazon. This month.
It’s all I can think about!
I mean, I’m eating, drinking, sleeping, and breathing that book launch.
Now, everything is moving along as planned. The cover is beautiful, the chapters are formatted, the testimonials are ready, the launch bonuses are coming in and are incredible, and my excitement is building to a magnificent roar.
Then it happened . . . .
A glitch showed up. Nothing major. Just a delay in the publishing date.
To say I had a melt-down would be putting it mildly. To say I was ballistic would be a better fit.
Forget the fact that I was in a terrible state of fatigue when I got the news. I was traveling from south Florida in a car stuffed to the brim with contents from my college kid’s apartment. It was the second day of the two-day trip. You might say I was a little road-weary. And yes, irritable.
Now, nothing going on with the delay of that launch could be helped. Everything was moving along smoothly but it was going to be a delayed time line.
My ego went crazy!
How dare something interfere with MY plans? I, I, I and me, me, me was all I seemed to be hearing!
That ego was going to town!
The real story . . . .
In the scope of my life, your life, and any subsequent lives moving around on the planet, this is small stuff. Not even worth a footnote.
Why am I blogging about it? Besides putting it in perspective for myself, I’m letting others know that sometimes even the best laid plans. . . . .
It’s OK. It’s alright. The earth is still rotating on it’s axis.
Being a business owner and working on projects is exciting and fun. My lesson for myself that I’m passing on to you today is, if you keep at it, it all comes together. When it’s supposed to. In it’s own time.
Have fun out there! Even when your ego tries to stop you!
p.s. Of course, there is a beautiful page about my soon-to-be-released on Amazon book here: BeSocialBeRich Go see!
