Being our own boss comes with lots of freedom and many times, (especially for the work-at-homes) the day ends with lots of busy-ness accomplished but no real financial results to show for it.

Believe me, I know that even a pile of dirty laundry can look enticing when procrastination shows up during a big project.  Or Facebook chatter can seem more interesting than focusing on your latest money-maker.  I get that.

So . . . . If you are NOT a member of that elite group of business owners that can stay motivated no matter what and  achieve their goals so quickly they are setting more as we speak, this post is for you!

How to become an over-achiever and get stuff done!

These are the three distinct techniques I use and have proven over and over to work for me.  Disclaimer: My results are just that.  My results.  Yours may vary and be BIGGER than mine!

  • Hire a coach.  I did this from day one, even before I had a website.  The investment has always paid off.  In fact, I have changed coaches three times, as my business has grown and evolved!  How to find the right one for you?  Find someone who is actually doing what you want to do, is successful at it, and offers coaching.  Be sure they resonate with you and just DO IT!  
  • Join a mastermind group.  This little gem is my secret weapon.  We meet virtually (Google hangouts) once a week to state intentions, share resources and motivate each other.  If you aren’t sure how to find one, start your own.  Simply find three to four like-minded biz owners who are truly interested in building their businesses, agree on the time to meet, and get going!
  • Have an accountability partner.  This is different from the mastermind group in that it’s one-on-one with only one person.  Every week, we share briefly our weekly goals, (especially financial) and hold each other accountable to getting it accomplished.  It’s amazing how having to answer to someone else will light a fire under your tush!

SIDENOTE:  Neither the mastermind nor the accountability call is chit-chatty.  They are strictly for goals and accountability.  If either turns into a non-productive time sucker, move on.
