Is your online business a tortoise or a hare? You have to know that slow and steady wins the race. Every. Time.
Forget about all the hype from people saying they made a million dollars online their first week out of the gate. It didn’t happen. Stop believing everything you read.
But I want to make money NOW!
I know. And that’s why you decided to do an internet start-up. It’s quick and easy. Well, let me dispel that little theory too. It’s not quick and unless you are a natural born techie prodigy, there IS a learning curve.
Now, having said all that, let me encourage you! Here’s the key: keep doing small things every day, making forward movements and you will begin to see results. Everything you do every single day makes a difference. (Not sure where to start every day? Read this: Monday Morning Online Biz Strategies)
Make money while you’re learning. . . . .
From the very beginning, you will find there’s something you do really well. The list is long: writing, word press implementation, audio creation, video creation, copywriting, utilizing social media, etc. The list goes on and on. Capitalize on that. Charge for your skill and bring in income while you are continuing to build your business. Who knows? That skill may turn out to be your golden egg!
Every day won’t seem like a victory but every day that you do something to move your business forward is a reason to celebrate.
The secret is in the small stuff!
Just like the tortoise that moves ever so slowly to his destination, your business will sometimes seem like it is just poking along. But, it’s in the small steps and the little breaks that you will find the results you are after.
I am inclined to use myself as an example because it’s only been a little over two years since I attended my first seminar with only a laptop and a desire. Two years! That almost sounds like I’m a hare instead of a tortoise! But, believe me, every single day I have been doing something towards building my business and many days it felt like I had actually done nothing! The mind can be a cruel deceiver.
Watch your step!
It does make a difference which steps you choose to take. You simply must have the end result in your mind and have a plan of action. Otherwise, you will find yourself distracted or giving in to your fears and your results will be less than stellar. You can only get to your destination by pursuing the baby steps that will result in the achievement of your goal.
So. Think about it. Which would you rather be?
A tortoise or a hare?
