It’s beginning to be an often asked question. Can you really make money blogging?
The answer lies in what you do. So, it’s yes, no, or maybe.
The best model out there is the one used most often and some of you won’t like it. It’s called the “free give-away.”
Look at most of the big sites and they are doing just that. Giving you value for free. And what do you do? Come back.
Again and again.
There’s a reason this model is so over-used. It works! Plain and simple.
You can write and write all day long on your blog and hope someone pops over to read it. You can even tweet about it, tell your Facebook friends about it, and again, hope.
Don’t get me wrong. You’ll get readers by doing that. I use all sorts of marketing techniques to entice people to read this blog. However, which ones do you think are the most successful? That’s right. The give-aways!
That’s why the big boys use them. It’s why you should too.
Even this technique requires a little finesse. You have to give away great stuff. No half-way done. Always super-duper, over-the-top wonderful stuff!
But I don’t want to give away all my wonderful products for free. I worked hard to produce them. They are my babies.
I feel your pain. Fact is, you need to give away fantastic products you’ve worked hard on. That is how you cultivate trust. Once your reader gets that great give-away, he or she will come back. Again and again. Why? Because you are trustworthy. They are assured by the quality of the freebie that the “real deal” product will be second to none.
You have to make sure it is!
That’s where the money comes in!
You promote sister products that compliment your giveaways and are of greater value. You promote products that you have either used with success or created for the success of your readers. The reader gets value from every single click on your blog. And every click is not free.
Your giveaways establish trust. Make sure you honor that.
Now, go create something fabulous to give away.
And watch them come back for more!
