MLK and the Online Biz Owner

by Martha Giffen

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a master of words.  He was one of the greatest speakers of his day.  I have no doubt that if he were alive today, he would be blogging!  Because, he went where the people were, and today the largest audience in the world is on the web!

What can an online biz owner learn from Martin Luther King, Jr.?  Same thing as anyone else.  Optimism.  Encouragement.  Motivation.

His words seem timeless.  Here are a few I thought you might enjoy:

  • “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the staircase.”
  • “All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem.”
  • “Man is man because he is free to operate within the framework of his destiny.  He is free to deliberate, to make decisions, and to choose between alternatives.”
  • “Everybody can be great . . . .because anybody can serve.  You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.  You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve.  You only need a heart full of grace.  A soul generated by love.”

We all want to be leaders.  As business owners, we are.  On this day, let’s take to heart the words of one of the greatest leaders in our country’s history.

Have a good one!

Peace,

-Martha
