This post may sound more like it belongs on a self-development blog, but believe me, a little social media mindset is good for your business!
Your mindset is all about your attitude and while interacting on social media, that attitude and energy around it determines whether people are drawn to you or repelled. I know. You thought you could get away with just typing positive words
Not to get all woo-woo here, but it’s your energy that radiates out into the world when you speak.
Yes, that includes the written word!
Have you ever been approached by a salesperson that wasn’t truly sold on their own product? Or worse, didn’t really like their product! It’s painful. No enthusiasm, no energy, nothing that makes you say, “I gotta have it.”
On the other hand, think for a minute of the people you follow on Facebook or Twitter. Are they warm? Have a sense of humor? Create interesting conversations? Able to articulate their point of view in a compelling way? Interested in others? Do they make you feel like they know, like, and trust YOU?
That, my friends, is a mindset!
They believe in themselves, what they are doing and can’t wait to share great info. Their energy is LOUD!
Now, this might surprise you, but in order to engage in a lively and fun way that gets results, you have to spend time with you first.
I know. It’s all about them. And, it is. But, in order to serve them, you have to get your own mindset straight and that means it’s all about you.
Trust me on this one . . .
It always boils down to your mindset. Your focus. No matter what your niche is. When participating on the social media networks, you have to be focused on your community, come from a place of sincerity and service, and pay attention to your delivery. Otherwise, they’ll see right through you and find someone to follow who radiates authenticity that draws them in. The bottom line is this:
You can’t fake it.
So, do what you need to do to set the tone for your engagement. It’s what others will resonate with. There’s a reason oodles of people in the self-help niche write about this stuff. It affects everything we do.
Now, go out there and get your head in the game. KNOW that you can engage others. Take the time to work on your mental attitude and the rest will fall into place.
You’ll be glad you did!
