Most people would agree that offering your customers a product is the most important part of making a sale. Although you do have to offer the product or you’ll not make any money, the sale starts with the listening.
You have to listen to your customers to find out what they are looking for. Where their pain is. You have to listen to uncover their needs. They want to know how you’re going to solve their problem. They want to hear the benefits to them.
What’s in it for me?
That’s always the key question. You can put up banners on your blog all day long, send promotional e-mails to your list til you are out of words, Twitter and Facebook your products continually, but if you aren’t offering what your audience wants, you won’t make any profits.
You will quickly know if this is true. By your bottom line.
Listening will bring results!
You can’t make your audience want something they don’t want. Just because you want them to want it and even if you know they need it, doesn’t work. You have to give them what they want. Listen, and they will tell you.
And often times, they will surprise you!
Your next product. . . .
If you are a consistent blogger, you can gauge what your audience likes to read about by how many people stop by to check out a certain post. Once you see several posts on the same topic getting fantastic results, you just might have a clue as to what your next product should be centered around!
Watch your comments! Many times, this is the best place to formulate a product idea. Your readers will tell you why they like a certain topic and you might expand upon that idea to come up with a product.
Don’t re-invent the wheel!
If there’s a product that your customers continue to rave about and just can’t quit telling you how wonderful it is, go see if you can get an affiliate link and promote it to your followers that haven’t discovered it yet!
Taking the time to listen will increase your business. Try it and see if I’m not right!
