What’s in your inventory? When is the last time you really looked at your inventory?
Chances are, you’ve accumulated a rather rich arsenal of all sorts of products that you offer.
You probably have an incredible amount of content that you have never used. Or used once.
What am I talking about?
If you are selling online digital products, like I am, it’s pretty much a given that you have at least a few of these items floating around in your back pocket:
- Articles (written, but not published, or only published once)
- Blog posts (From your first one forward, you’re creating content!)
- Free product (You created to build your list or give as a bonus)
- E-books (Either you’ve created it or you have PLR rights to the content)
- Audios (Could be interviews, taped radio shows, an audio of your blog post, etc.)
- Videos (Promotional, educational, training, etc.)
Those are just a few items that could and should be in your inventory.
Now, there’s two ways to grow your business. Both are good and in my case, I use a combination of the two. The first one is to continue to increase your customer base and offer the same products over and over. To new people. The second is to increase your product inventory and promote to the same people over and over.
See the difference?
In one, you are growing people. In the other, products! For the best of both worlds, I say grow both!
How to make this happen? For one thing, re-purpose. Yes, just like painting your grandma’s old night stand to use as a coffee table in your own home, you can use your content in different ways for different audiences and in the process grow your biz at both ends!
After you finish your blog post, immediately format it into an article. You might need to tweak a few sentences here and there, possibly change the title, but for the most part, you can create 2-for-1 every single time you write a blog post. Another idea is to make an audio of your post for people who would rather have it delivered that way. There. That’s a 3-in-1.
The idea behind the idea?
People like to receive content in different ways. Hence, the audio and the written word. You just increased your customer base from strictly readers to audio learners also with the audio addition. By doing the article, you are sending your content out to people who are NOT your regular blog readers. They have not landed on your blog yet and will be exposed to your content through the article.
I know you are growing that inventory as we speak and I want you to think of a way to double or triple your inventory just by bundling several pieces of content together or taking one piece and offering it several ways.
Set a goal. . .
Set a monthly goal of increasing your inventory. Add something from the above list or combine a couple of ideas. At the end of the month, check results. If your prospect list and sales are both growing, you’re moving in the right direction. Keep going!
