How To Be A Guru Millionaire (it’s not what you think!)

Have you ever wondered why some people become Rockstar Guru Millionaires in their niche while others just continue to stay at the knowledgeable expert level?

Guru status and millionaire status are usually obtained because of one secret that many underestimate or know nothing about.

The inner circle.

It has to do with their inner circle of friends.  Have you ever heard the old saying, “you become who you hang out with?”

Well, it’s the truth.  When I was growing up, my Daddy had another way of saying it.  He said, “Choose your friends wisely.”

That’s the little known secret.  The gurus know each other.

Yes, they’ve paid their dues and put in the necessary hard work but so have thousands of others.  The difference is who they choose to hang out with!

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates 300x185 How To Be A Guru Millionaire (its not what you think!)Want proof?

Look no further than the celebrity world.  Justin Bieber (don’t judge) became friends with Usher, Dr. Phil started hanging out with Oprah, and even the guru billionaire of all-time Bill Gates plays bridge with Warren Buffett.

My point?

Meeting and hanging out with the people you want to emulate is a sure-fire way to become just like they are.  If you want to be a guru millionaire in your niche, go hang out with some.

Not sure where to look?

Really?  OK, do the words “social media” mean anything to you?  It is easier and easier to be able to connect with people in your industry that are superstars.  Decide who has achieved the goal you are looking for and connect with them.  Or network with someone who IS connected with them.  Get the picture?

The REAL point . . .

No matter if you aspire to be the next guru millionaire or the next best 5th grade teacher on the planet, you simply must surround yourself with others who are already excelling in that area.  We really DO become who we hang out with!

Peace,

-Martha

I love this piece, Martha. I also think about what I bring to the party. Sometimes women avoid reaching out because they think they will be a “nuisance” or “a bother.” No matter where you are in the “success continuum” from one day to another, there is something you can bring.

Hi Martha,

So true! When I was in charge of advertising for a chain of fast food restaurants in Las Vegas (more than a decade ago) we were considered “small fries” (pun only slightly intended) in the advertising world. However, once I started socializing with other larger advertisers my ability to get better deals in advertising (as well as perks!) grew exponentially.

Same with my online business. When I connected with some of the gurus (back in the beginning) my web business grew by leaps and bounds.

Excellent advice as always!

XOXO

Hi Martha,

Love the point of your article. Our environment, including people, can influence us in so many ways. When we surround ourselves with those who have found success in the area that we are striving for, it gives us that opportunity to reach a little higher and have a good example to follow.

” Meeting and hanging out with the people you want to emulate is a sure-fire way to become just like they are. ” I totally agree with that. Show me who you hang around with and I will show you who you will become in a few years. That is why it is so important to find good mentors that are where you want to be. If you want to go higher, you must find someone who is higher than where you are… Great post!

Very true! I have always told my own children the same thing. You become what you choose to “hang around”. Great article.
