In the world of college sports, if a coach doesn’t have a winning season (or several), he is in jeopardy of losing his job. Big time.
Pure and simple. If the coach isn’t bringing in the results, he’s out.
Of course, it’s easy to see the poor results of a coach. At least if you look at the wins as your measuring stick. What do you use as the measuring stick for the results of your online biz?
In most cases, it’s measured in dollars. If you don’t make any money, you’re not getting the results you need to continue.
A balancing act!
Just like a coach who spends too much time recruiting and not enough time teaching, or maybe too much time talking on radio shows instead of working with his team, there has to be balance. If you are spinning your wheels being “busy” while results don’t come in, you just might want to make some changes before you have to kick yourself out the door!
Getting the results you want usually won’t happen by performing one task. Multiple tasks are required and to really keep the ball rolling, all the effort has to point towards making the result happen.
Figure out what’s important!
While all the nuts and bolts don’t always come together quickly, they DO need to come together in an organized way. Yes, you need to blog. Yes, you need to build your list and communicate with them. Yes, you need to have products to promote. And, yes, in the end you have to sell something in order to make money.
I know. That was the quick version
But you get my drift. All of those things have to balance out in a way that produces the best results. Just because you have 10,000 followers on Twitter and they think you’re the cat’s meow, doesn’t mean a thing if none of it is leading to any sales conversions.
Does that sound harsh?
It’s reality. And just like a coach with no winning games, you will be an entrepreneur with no sales who needs to get the ax.
If there’s an area where you’re weak, fix it. Nobody has to tell you if you’re achieving the results you want. You know if you are measuring up. So, if it’s a mentor you need, find one. If it’s a coaching program you need, get in one. If your sales copy isn’t working or your e-mails are off, outsource it. Make the commitment and do whatever it takes to succeed!
You are at the helm of your business. Are you having a winning season or do you need to be fired? Or maybe just change the game plan? Think about it.
