Have you considered getting in the world of product creation but just don’t think you have any souped up, clever ideas? You might want to rethink that.
I was having a phone conversation this morning with a former biz colleague and we were remembering when we didn’t know how to “cut and paste.” Don’t laugh. It hasn’t been that long for me and even though you may be rolling your eyes about now, there are still many who don’t know how to do this simple task!
It’s easier than you think!
When creating products, people seem to think they have to solve a major, complicated and difficult problem. Then they think they have to give a long, drawn-out explanation of the answer.
If the information is wanted and the person is hurting in some way because they don’t have it, a simple, concise solution is what they want. A nice step-by-step product that they can follow.
You see, I do remember when “cutting and pasting” sounded like something I did back in grade school. I knew how to do that. But when it came to my computer, I was clueless.
Don’t overlook the obvious!
How many tasks do you perform every single day that have become so mundane and second nature that you can do them while you snore? My guess is too many to count!
Can you make the complex simple? It doesn’t matter whether YOU think it’s complex. If someone doesn’t know how to do something, it’s complex. To them.
See where this is going?
You have a mountain of products in your head. Begin to look around to see what questions people are asking. If you know the answer, create a video, write an e-book, explain it with an audio. Your choices on how to deliver the information are endless.
You see, there are so many marketers out there that think they can’t create their own products. So they continue to sell other people’s. That’s great and you can make a nice living doing that. But, I would like to encourage you to think bigger.
You have the knowledge!
Feel like nobody will buy it? That’s a fair question. However, if you look around and other people are selling something similar and have been doing it for a while, guess what? There’s a market.
We forget how far we’ve come and how much we know. We forget that we once paid plenty of money to learn how to do what we do. Whether it’s sewing on a button so it’ll never fall off, how to fall asleep when you’ve got money on your mind, or learning how to grow grapes when you don’t live in the wine country, there is a product waiting to be created. (I know. Those are random, but I’m trying to make a point.) It doesn’t matter what niche you are in. There are loads of people coming to the online world for the very first time. Every. Day.
Teach what you know. It’s that easy!
Get busy and write down your list of “things I already know that other people want to know and will pay for the answer.” Look at that list and go create a product. Now!
