What’s Your Specialty?

by Martha Giffen

Want your  online biz to have super-star success?

Here’s the secret:  Specialize.

When thinking about some of the great businesses of our day,  most can be summed up in one word. That word would be their specialty. Starbucks?  I know, too easy.  Nike?  Again, too easy.  Southwest?  Anyone see a pattern?

Chinese, Mexican, Italian?

Think about the best restaurants.  They usually specialize in one cuisine.  A Chinese restaurant might have a hamburger on the menu but their expertise is the Chinese food.   Same with Italian, Mexican, etc.  Their expertise in that area is why you stopped in.

Same with your biz.  Are you serving up a superb specialty?  Or are you trying to be everything to everyone?  You know which one works!

It should be easy to tell what your specialty is.

Is your biz about making money online or is it about how to make money online by using social media?  See the difference?  Take a look at your site.  Is it plain what you offer and what you are about or does one have to go looking?  Do you have so much to offer that a person would be overwhelmed with the choices?

Now, I’m not saying some of your products won’t criss-cross, but your MAIN menu needs to say if you’re Chinese, Mexican or Italian!

Focus your efforts on a specialty within the scope of the big picture and you have a recipe for success!

Peace,

-Martha
