How To Write An Authentic Blog Post

PinExt How To Write An Authentic Blog Post

Who else wants to know how to write an authentic blog post?   Authenticity?  It’s one of the current buzz words on the net.  Everyone screaming that they want authenticity on our blogs, in our business, in our lives!

Want authenticity?

Ok, this is as authentic as I’ve ever been.  Remember, I’m writing this blog post for you!

Authenticity means being “yourself.”  Talking in your own voice.  I try my dead-letter best to do just that but sometimes I know I come off somewhat contrived.  For example, in my quest to bring only relevant, important, cutting-edge content to this blog, I sometimes think  I get somewhat stiff.  You know, a little stuffed shirt.

I’m anything but.

Soooo, I want this blog to be authentically me. Writing for authentically you!

I’m going to give you some great “authentic” advice:

I’m going to “keep it real” and give you the big secret about your online marketing business.

Ready?

If you’re not selling something,  you won’t make any money.

That’s it.

Most authentic advice I can give you.

Surprised?

I hope not.  But, the fact is, many of you are writing blogs daily, doing your social networking, writing articles, talking to your e-mail customers and still not making money!

You’ve forgotten the main ingredient. You have to sell a product!

All the other activities support the selling of your product.  You can make all the relationships you want but if you fail to ask the customer to buy your product, guess what?  No sales!

How’s that for authenticity?

If you needed a wake-up call, you just got it.  If not, you just read an authentic blog post!

Now, get out there and authentically sell your products!

Peace,

-Martha

Popped over after reading the comment you left on my “Preaching to the Choir” post.

Read your post and can see we definitely speak the same language.

This post will be especially helpful to people who’ve started their business – but never sold a thing in their lives. “Asking for the money” is the authentic thing to do. Prospective buyers have needs to be filled or problems to be solved – asking for the money moves them along the continuum that gets those needs met and problems solved.

Thanks, Martha. I know sometimes I get in the mindset that if I put out really good information and readers like it, they’ll figure out on their own how to buy what I’m selling. But, how are they going to know what to buy if I don’t tell them?

You have to tell them each and every time what you want them to do.

What an authentic post! lol
It’s a concept many folks forget.
I see a lot of wheel spinning in this business… with no financial results.
I think many of us have been on the tread mill in at one time or another.

Great post!! I realized that about one of my blogs and had to think through what I wanted to offer there and how to link it to what I do want to sell.

Also, I am working on trying to be more authentic in my blog posts. I always mean what I say but like you, sometimes, I think the way I say it distances it a little. Some of my spirit gets lost in the retelling! :)

Awesome. This is something I could have added to my post today on how to increase sales online – - directly ask for the sale.

I recently had a review of my blog done by a “guru”. The main point she brought up was my call to action was weak. I was not telling my readers what to do. This includes telling them to buy the product.

I like how you tied being authentic into selling your product. Your voice and who you are counts when it comes to saying ” go now and buy”.

That surprises me Sheila. I think your blog is so easy to navigate and simple to find the products. But, hey, what do I know??? LOL
