Are you an action taker? Think about that. It’s a fact that success is directly tied to the amount of action one is willing to take. If that’s true, why isn’t everyone taking massive action every single day?
What if I told you it could change your life?
What if I told you, it’s all in your hands?
Taking action is a choice!
Why do so many choose not to do it? Is it because action takes too much motivation? Maybe. Too much time? Unlikely. They don’t really want success? Could be.
Action is just one trait that all successful people posses but it really is necessary to tie all the other traits together.
For example . . . .
How’s your mindset?
Yes, it takes a positive frame of mind and a belief that you can succeed to make it all happen. Have you taken any action in that area? What are you doing to keep your daily mindset on the prize? Do you read positive and uplifting literature? Do you spend time in quiet meditation, putting your mind in a place to receive success?
How about your network?
I’m talking about your closest friends and inner circle. Does it “look” like the success that you desire? I once heard that if you want to be a millionaire, you need to have at leave one millionaire in your circle of friends. Whatever you want to become, you need to surround yourself with like-minded people. Have you taken action in that area?
Look at your daily habits . . .
Are you distracted and can’t seem to get your mojo going? Or, are you procrastinating and watching days slip into months, into years? Taking some action every day will give you the results you are looking for. I can’t stress this one enough. Use some massive action toward making your dream come true and you’ll see it happen. Action in your daily life is essential!
Recognize a good idea?
How many woulda, coulda, shoulda moments are you replaying. Get rid of the regrets and go forward. Be aware of the good ideas when they come and (have I said it enough?) take action! Ideas come fast and furious? Or the occassional one comes and you promptly forget it? Carry a notebook or leave yourself a message on your phone to remind you of the ideas to act on.
Don’t confuse thinking with doing!
Thinking about taking action doesn’t get it done. We can all sit around and think how we want our life to be but until we actually DO something, nothing will change.
Can taking massive action really change your life?
You bet!
Go for it!

Hi Martha,
A’ha! Do not confuse thinking with acting. Excellent.
Dream and do. Keep dreaming and keep doing. You must work on your mental tools then use your physical tools to co-create your dream life.
I love massive action. I love cutting the ties, burning bridges, and sprinting forward. It’s my favorite way to cut through resistance and reach my goals. Uncomfy? Yep, sometimes, which is awesome, because it means I am growing like a weed.
Thanks for sharing Martha!
Ryan
You’re not kidding! It can be uncomfy as heck! But I have found that if I push through the little things, the bigger things come my way. Thanks so much for your insight Ryan. Always welcome on my blog

Hi Martha,
I love this post and the last bit is brilliant! Don’t confuse thinking with doing – how easy is it to fall into that trap? Mindset, network and habits are all crucial to our success as is the action!
There is only a small step between not taking action and taking action yet the results and the exhilaration are as different as black and white!

Hi Martha,
I agree with you totally that taking action is massively important. The reason we fail to do so with amazing regularity is because the mind is programmed to resist change. Once we get momentum, we are usually OK until the next quantum leap, but then we need to surge up again.
I wish it were easier sometimes, but that is why I use tapping. If I find myself in a place of inaction when I should be taking action, I tap on it. Then, not only do I get to the cause of my procrastination, I clear it and move on easily. If I didn’t have that tool at my disposal I dread to think where I’d be.
Great post. Stimulating material and also very inspirational. I really liked it. Thanks for writing it.

Your so right about this but it’s easier said than done. Sometimes people get bogged down in what action they should take and what will the consequences be of those actions.

Great post. When I get ahead of somebody, he/she always ask – how did you do that? Well, your post proved my point. Take actions right away. Some action may not work out. But you learn something every time you act. Next time, act and adjust.

Great post – You may like this quote.
I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

I already love that quote! You make a fantastic point. Get your mind off your failures, see them as stepping stones, and keep moving forward. Excellent!

That’s a very effective strategy. I write a short list the night before and mark them off as the day goes on. Works!

The most basic of principles yet many do not grasp it.
A traveler in ancient Greece, the story goes, met an old man walking along the road and asked him how to get to Mount Olympus. The old man, who turned out to be Socrates, replied: “Just make sure that every step you take is in that direction.”
Excellent post Martha – I think I’m a bit of both – I go through peaks and valleys of action and non action where I think I’m taking action where in reality I do exactly as you said – I’m really not! SURE I’m busy – but am I accomplishing anything? Thanks for the post – another great one!

Hi Martha,
One of the things I do wrong is feel overwhelmed by all I need to do and then do nothing. I solved this problem by adding a puppy to my inner circle. You see, I’m an empty nester and was struggling with the lack of interruption in my life. My puppy is a joy – I take breaks with him and then feel much more productive. I’m one of those people who finds more joy in work when I make time to play.

When I am not blogging, I spend most of my time doing research. I often have projects that last several years, but really they are a series of small steps done in a certain sequence. Being a researcher has shown me that nearly everything can be accomplished in a series of small steps as long as you actually do the small steps. Good luck with taking actions!

I am someone who takes action. However, I don’t dive heedlessly into action. Thinking and doing don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Well thought out actions always serve me better than taking action simply for the sake of taking action.
